CIDOC Silent Auction Don't forget the CIDOC Silent Auction to be held during the CIDOC 2000 Conference! Your donations and bidding will ensure that this fundraising event is a success. How does it work? Auction items, donated by conference delegates and sponsors, will be on display throughout the conference. All CIDOC/CHIN delegates, speakers, and guests are invited to bid on them, using a customized bid sheet to record their offers. Bid sheets will be tallied on Saturday, August 26 and the auction winners will be announced following the Closing Plenary address. Anyone Can Donate, So Be Creative All auction items are donated by conference delegates or sponsors. The Silent Auction is a highly visible event that will attract the attention of all Conference attendees. Let your imagination be your guide - many of the most sought-after prizes are often surprise one-of-a-kind pieces that capture the attention (and competitive spirit!) of the delegates. Need Some Hints? Why not donate an item from your museum gift shop? Or how about tickets to local tourist attractions, or a favorite publication? Items can vary from books to t-shirts to videos to…. Almost anything goes! You can donate an item even if you don't plan to attend the CIDOC 2000 Conference. How to Donate To donate items for the Silent Auction, follow the simple steps below: 1. Choose an item to donate 2. Print the donation form (below) and fill in the information. Be sure to note the approximate value of the item and the recommended minimum bid. 3. Fax your donation form to Diane Bowden, CHIN, (819) 994-9555 4. Send your auction item to us, or bring it with you to the conference   A. Mail or ship your item to: Attention: CIDOC Conference Canadian Heritage Information Network (CHIN) 15 Eddy St., 4th floor Hull, Quebec K1A 0M5 Canada   All shipped or mailed items must arrive at CHIN before August 7th 2000.   B. Bring your auction item to the CIDOC 2000 Registration desk at the Westin Ottawa Hotel, before 10:00 am on Wednesday, August 23, 2000.
