Duties and Responsibilities: 1)Records management: processing, numbering and description of archival, photographic and artifact collections; input of data into an electronic collections database; 2)Information management: maintains correspondence related to objects offered for accession, incoming and outgoing loans and permanent collections catalogues and files; 3)Collections management: assists with the research, handling, storage and transfer of archival and artifact collections; 4)Facilitates client requests for research within the collections and assist researchers on-site including invoicing; 5)Supports and aids with the development of exhibits and educational and public programming based on the archival and artifact collections; 6)Supports and aids in the supervision of volunteer researchers and cataloguers.
Qualifications: 1)Post secondary study with a focus in history, library/archive science or museology; 2)Meticulous attention to detail; strong research and organizational skills 3)Ability to work independently; 4)Computer literate; 5)Experience/knowledge of maritime history, boating and sailing an asset; 6)Prior experience in collections management in a museum/archives setting an asset; 7)Excellent customer service and communication skills.
