ICMM is an international professional association of maritime museums, organisations and individuals sharing maritime interests - a guild of colleagues and friends dedicated to maintaining world-wide professional contacts, providing a forum for the free exchange of ideas, improving the quality and standards of maritime preservation and nautical archaeology, and fostering a network of friendship and mutual support.

L'ICMM est une association professionnelle internationale composée de musées maritimes, d'organisations et de personnes individuelles qui s'intéressent au monde maritime. L'ICMM est une association qui vise à maintenir des contacts internationaux, à établir un forum pour l'échange d'idées, à améliorer la qualité et les normes concernant la préservation des collections maritimes et de l'archéologie nautique, et à encourager un réseau d'amitié et de soutien mutuel.
